What Will You Do?

Under the direction of the Parts Department Supervisor, the Parts Specialist will be responsible for departmental support with handling customer inquiries via phone, email and in person. Duties are focused on part identification, placing part orders, order status, product information, account status and pricing. Duties may also include part order processing, to include, create and apply wrapping, labels and identifications as required. Stack and arrange products and packs parts into soft sided envelopes, crates, boxes, and cartons. This role will also collaborate and work closely under the moderate direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Understanding the general aspects of the job and a high sense of urgency is required.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Under the direction of the Parts Department Supervisor, the Parts Specialist will be responsible for departmental support with handling customer inquiries via phone, email and in person. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Skills in Inventory Management
    • Moving Parts between locations
    • Creating transport tasks accurately amongst the three warehouses
    • Maintaining inventory counts
    • Trouble shooting inventory issues/Kanban
    • Move serialized parts accurately
    • Send parts properly marked to the other two warehouses
  • Packing parts orders in a way that the inventory will not get damaged
  • Closing parts orders
    • Print and sign Picklists
    • Add tracking to orders
    • Deliver the parts order
  • Process Work Orders
    • Pull/move inventory over to transfer parts from a work order to a parts order
    • Deliver Customer order tied to Work Order
  • Process Return Material Authorizations
  • Oversee quality of parts being packed
  • Palletize and ship large order via LTL carriers
  • Be able to lift at least 50lbs
  • Maintain proper inventory levels in the Parts Department
  • Build a small amount of subassemblies
  • Create shop orders for multistep operations
    • Maintain the shop floor workbench for the Parts Department
  • Manage and keep the backorder log updated
  • Maintain and respond to emails
  • Order packaging supplies from UPS and our local suppliers

REQUIREMENTS FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 Customer Service experience
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams etc.)
  • ERP system experience preferred

SKILLS/ABILITIES/SPECIFICATIONS

  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively communicate one on one and in group settings with customers as well as other employees within the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Must have sound judgment in making non-routine choices within established guidelines with minimal supervision.
