kglobal, a Washington, DC-based strategic communications firm specializing in public affairs, public relations, marketing, branding, and crisis management, is looking for an energetic analyst to join our media assessment team at a high-profile federal agency. This Washington, DC-based position will provide assessments and social media monitoring on behalf of a U.S. government client.

What You'll Do:

The Digitial Media Analysis Professional will measure the impact of communication efforts and provide recommendations and insights on how to better reach key audiences and meet strategic goals by producing a variety of monitoring and assessment products. Specific responsibilities will include:

Communication Assessment (Digital Media Analysis): Compiling in near real-time the digital media coverage of campaigns, hearings, events, and issues based on targeted search terms. Conducting analysis to measure performance and effectiveness.

• Communication Environment Monitoring: Maintaining a consistent picture of relevant digital media conversations in order to quickly distill the relative importance of coverage and identify important trends that can impact the client's reputation and ongoing communication efforts.

• Communication Research: Increasing understanding of 1) the intended impacts of the organization's change in policy, programs, or procedures; 2) the mission, goals, and objectives and reputational risks to the organization; 3) lessons learned or other information of value from similar communication efforts; 4) significant online and social media conversations to provide awareness, context, and identify important trends.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience in communication are required
• Proficient in the use of all MS Office programs with advanced Excel experience
• Experience with media monitoring platforms e.g. Sprinklr, Cision, and Meltwater
• Demonstrated experience developing and effectively employing Boolean searches
• Demonstrated experience with communications research and assessments
• Ability to identify broad trends and specific findings, and leverage both on behalf of lessons learned to inform future communication efforts
• Demonstrated experience briefing findings to leadership.
• Ability to translate broad concepts and complex processes into strategic messaging and talking points; ability to build logical, defensible arguments supported by clearly-articulated premises.
• Very strong research, writing, and editing skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and implement strong methodological approaches to measure impact
• Experience with defense and government entities is a plus
• Active secret security clearance

• This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
