Varsity Zone HVAC Field Operations Manager

Key Accountabilities:
  • Training & Skill Development:Design and implement comprehensive training programs for HVAC technicians and field crews, addressing HVAC techniques, safety protocols, and industry best practices, while identifying and addressing skill gaps through targeted training modules and staying updated on advancements in HVAC materials and installation methods to foster continuous learning.
  • Project Leadership: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to insulation teams, collaborating with project stakeholders to develop detailed plans and optimizing HVAC solutions, while leading by example with exceptional workmanship, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Educational Resources: Develop and maintain educational materials, such as manuals, videos, presentations, and a resource library, to facilitate knowledge transfer and continuous skill enhancement for technicians.
  • Quality Enhancement: Collaborate with teams to enhance the quality of HVAC installations through sharing advanced techniques and industry insights, conducting regular project assessments, and providing constructive feedback to improve performance.
  • Safety and Compliance Culture: Promote a safety-first culture by incorporating safety protocols and best practices into all training initiatives, ensuring training materials prioritize safety measures and underscore their significance across all aspects of insulation work.
  • Collaborative Communication: Collaborate with project stakeholders, including managers, clients, and cross-functional teams, to exchange knowledge, share insights, and ensure training progress positively impacts project outcomes, while keeping stakeholders informed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • GED or high school diploma required
  • Five (5) or more years of HVAC experience
  • Five (5) or more years training and development experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with discretion as appropriate
  • In-field troubleshooting and independent decision-making for successful outcomes
  • Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools
  • Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards in the construction industry.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC materials, techniques, and industry best practices
  • Management of multiple projects simultaneously and prioritization of tasks effectively
  • Higher education preferred
    • Trade or accredited 4 year institute
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
    • Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
    • Use vision abilities including: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
    • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
    • Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and must be able to travel on short notice.
    • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods
