CareFirst is looking for a Senior Database Administrator skilled in script development, batch processing, and database management, especially in Oracle.

Functions- Maintains and documents shell scripts and batch processes. Develops and applies procedures for periodic database backup.
Leads most technical aspects of implementing project release upgrades for assigned systems which includes: properly following a project life cycle, the development of project plans, completing all appropriate documentation and notifications in order to obtain resolution within the established timeframes.
Develops applications to help solve database solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases.
Develop and implement techniques to prevent system problems, troubleshoot incidents to recover services, and support root cause analysis.
Designs, implements, and maintains databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
Lead, train and mentor less experience Administrators.

Required- 8-10 years of experience in database administration
Experienced in Oracle and PL/SQL scripting and batch processing
Healthcare payer experience.
