Zachry is currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Materials Inspector (Receiving and Storage/Preservation) for New Construction work at our CP CHEM - ISBL project in Orange, TX.
Position Summary:
The Quality Control Materials Inspector will assists management in establishing project requirements for selecting the proper procedures and techniques for project quality control in the material receiving and preservations segment of the project. The Quality Control Materials Inspector will be responsible for performing inspections on incoming material and routine audits on material storage to ensure compliance with the project specifications, governing codes, and /or manufacturers' recommendations. The Quality Control Materials Inspector will be responsible for documenting inspection activities on the correct forms, checklists, and/or media approved by the project's ITP or SOP.
Responsibilities:
Visually inspect material, and equipment for damage and general workmanship.
Compare part numbers, drawing numbers, specifications, and revision levels on equipment and material being received.
Inspect raw/loose material, finished parts, and fittings, to purchase orders and applicable documentation.
Verify requirements through review of material certifications per project requirements.
Identify accepted items to be inventoried.
Identify nonconforming items and segregate them from accepted items.
Collects and records results of inspections by part number and enters data on inspection forms, logs or databases.
Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.
Required Qualifications - Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Previous construction experience within the oil and gas industry
Must have good aptitude and manual dexterity
Good reading comprehension
Ability to work with others – team player
Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
Commitment to Zachry's values and safety rules and regulations
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package. Familiar with other computer packages (e.g. MS Project, Outlook, Bluebeam, etc.)
Have the ability to read and interpret documents, blueprints, codes, and specifications.
Work environment:
Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot – cool/cold. Occasional rain. Will work at different elevations. May be required to work in close, confined spaces for a long period of time. Noise levels will be moderate to high.
