Job Description:
General Definition of Work
Performs difficult, skilled, and technical work involving repair, inspection, maintenance and calibrating of electrical equipment, process controllers, analog and digital process indicators, distributed control systems, electronic and electromechanical governors and all other control and monitoring equipment associated with electrical power generation. This position has overall responsibility for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Functions also include inventory control, housekeeping, and troubleshooting of operating components and computer interface. Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Functions
· Perform scheduled maintenance functions and emergency repairs as required on plant instrumentation and electrical systems.
· Troubleshoot, calibrate, and test operating components and computer interface.
· Maintain and coordinate all site calibrations testing requirements, records, documentation, and files.
· Assist Maintenance Supervisor with material and spare parts inventory control.
· Troubleshoot, repair, and supervise all DCS, telecommunications equipment, LAN and computer systems and site PLC’s, and continuous emission monitoring systems.
· Assist in maintaining total plant housekeeping.
· Maintain and troubleshoot all breaker, switchgear, and protective systems
· Maintain and troubleshoot all transformers and related systems
· Assist in the trouble shooting and operations of all site equipment and plant operations as required.
· Perform other duties as assigned including supporting other fleet sites.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Requires ability to visually read and respond to computer generated data, instrumentation, gauges, readouts, and variations in color.
· Must possess the manual dexterity required to operate keyboards, push buttons, dials valves, and mechanically actuated devices.
· Must be familiar with power plant emergency situations.
· Must be familiar with appropriate personal protection techniques and safety procedures such as lock out/tag out and environmental procedures.
· Read and comprehend technical bulletins, P&IDs, ladder, and SAMA logic
· Must be able to frequently climb ladders, work in confined spaces, climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways at elevations of 110 feet.
· Correctly wear and work using self-contained breathing apparatus.
· Lift a minimum of 20lbs in awkward positions and 75lbs from the floor to the waist.
· Incumbents will be subject to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license.
· Requires ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
· Must be available for callouts and overtime for all facilities.

Special Requirements
May be required to undergo respirator fit testing, spirometry (pulmonary function) testing and evaluation, appropriate training in using applicable respirator(s) safely and properly, identified by occupation, subject to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (NIOSH), OSHA 1910.134 and industry standards.
This is a day shift position. Overtime work may be required on weekends, holidays, or nights as needed in emergency or scheduled conditions. Available for on-call duty rotation is required.
A valid State of Florida Driver’s License is required.

Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or GED supplemented by technical school course work and experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, process control equipment and instrumentation. Must be experienced with computers and software associated with control systems. Experience in steam process and power generation is desired.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Physical Requirements
Heavy lifting (45 lbs. and over); heavy carrying (45 lbs. and over); reaching above shoulders; use of fingers; use of both hands; climbing (use of arms and legs); use of both eyes; distinguishing basic colors; distinguishing shades of colors; good hearing (without hearing aid). Wear restrictive safety equipment including but not limited to safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection devices, gloves, and hard hats.
Normally works inside in air conditioning; however, may be required to work in heat; in cold; in high humidity; in bright sunshine; in dampness; on slippery or uneven surfaces; on or with ladders or scaffolding; at heights above ground level up to 50’; confined spaces; working closely with others; with poor lighting; poor ventilation; miscellaneous odors and fumes; with odors of gas; atmosphere or safety equipment used or needed air pack; hearing protection; hard hats; safety glasses; goggles; face shields and safety belts.
