Duties:
● Provides supervision, leadership, guidance, and monitoring to the Education and Child Development Manager to support compliance of the Education component.
● Monitor for health and safety quality and compliance in collaboration with the Early Head Start Director and site directors.
● Provide monthly monitoring results to Early Head Start Director.
● Work collaboratively with EHS-CCP Directors, teachers and staff to comply with Head Start Program Performance Standards, Step Up to Quality regulations, and Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards.
● In conjunction with the EHS Director, provide orientation to new teaching staff.
● Assists EHS Director in the development, implementation, and compliance of partnership contracts.
● Visits childcare centers bi-weekly or monthly at a minimum to provide technical assistance, updates, and to communicate any non-compliance concerns and support.
● Attends policy council meetings and presents information in the absence of the EHS Director.
● Assists the EHS Director in preparation of the grant proposals/applications.
● Participates in the development and implementation of the annual self-assessment.
● Develop content, policies, and procedures with EHS Director to meet local, state, and federal regulations.
● Works in collaboration with the Early Head Start Director and managers to facilitate the yearly Community Assessment process.
● Prepares records and reports as required by the EHS Director.
● Provides general supervision of staff in the absence of the ES Director.
● Assists in establishing and maintaining formal and informal relationships with other community agencies.
● Promote awareness of the EHS program to community. Serves on committees, work groups, and boards of relevant community agencies.
● Attend and participate in meetings and conferences for related services and report back to supervisor.
● Willingness to assist in the classrooms as needed.
● Actively engage in ongoing professional development.
● Supports and promotes teamwork, ongoing communications and problem solving.
To the extent possible, perform such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the EHS Director.
Qualifications:
This position requires at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a closely related field and three years working in an early childhood setting. Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services childcare licensing rules, Step Up to Quality and program policies and procedures a plus.
