Summary :

• The Patient Access Representative is responsible for completing the patient registration in a timely and accurate manner;
• secures all demographic and financial information, including Medicare / Medicaid, Third Party Liability (TPL), and Workers Compensation;

verifies and / or notifies insurance company; completes cash deposits (co-pays, deductibles, self-pay); explains and answers registration questions on demand.

Responsibilities :

Obtains accurate patient identification for walk in arrivals, at bedside and / or at designated desk; explains of Condition of Admission;

educates on compliance and mandated forms.

Collects Cash, Check or Credit Card Payments and maintains cash drawer.

Verifies / notifies insurance company by phone, fax, or website.

Schedules and transcribes patient appointments and procedures.

Conducts interviews with patient family members and / or insurance to answer questions or explain hospital policies; completes all financial assistance process on all self-pay, under insured, or uninsured patients.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirement :

HS DIPLOMA / GED
