This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid-point hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer. NATURE OF WORKUnder minimal supervision, performs and/or coordinates technical and administrative functions in support of the project management division, including planning, scheduling and construction management activities. This position has County-wide responsibility.
(Illustrative Only)Assists with the planning and development of projects within the County; assists the Project Coordinator with the coordination and management of projects; monitors activities and functions of construction projects in cooperation with other departments and outside agencies, contractors, and design professionals; performs administrative duties such as preparing invoices, estimates, scheduling meetings; reviews and verifies documents for accuracy of information; enters data information into various computerized systems; takes notes of meetings; operates a variety of office machines/equipment; researches, evaluates and compiles information for reporting on project; arranges and coordinates with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals; assists in tracking project schedules and progress; assists in obtaining project plans, specifications, submittals, and other construction-related documents as necessary; works closely with vendors and contractors in determining best methods, viable alternatives, budgetary quotes for work to be completed, scoping documents, etc.; serves as a liaison between departments and agencies within the County and vendors; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
Associates Degree in business administration, public administration, construction management or closely related field; AND three (3) years of professional construction management and contract administration experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license. Requires successful completion of a background check. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, construction management; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Hourly rate for this position has been revised effective 3/4/24. Knowledge of: County policies and procedures; construction project development, estimating and scheduling processes and systems; county and state procurement, construction and work site safety regulations; file maintenance procedures and practices; office practices and procedures.
Skill in: Prioritizing work assignments to meet time constraints; using computers and advanced level software applications; communicating clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establishing effective working relationships with employees and the public; maintaining confidentiality; meeting and dealing tactfully with the public.
Ability to: Work in varying extreme weather conditions; lift 25 – 50 pounds; recognize hazardous conditions and react appropriately; establish and maintain effective working relationship with co-works; operate general office equipment; follow written and verbal instructions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; perform the essential functions of the job specifications with or without reasonable accommodations.
Work Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; generally the job requires 30% bending, 20% walking, 20% stooping and 30% standing; the job may be performed under varying extreme weather conditions and exposed to exhaust and chemical fumes, oil and hazardous materials.
