Yukon Eyecare Professionals is Hiring an Insurance Billing Coordinator Near Fairbanks, AK

Daily Job description:

  • Verify insurances for Patient’s coming in to Yukon
  • Check eligibility for all insurances prior to their exams
  • Collect co-pays accurately
  • Collect and track out of pocket charges for non-covered procedures
  • Gather insurance card and I.D data from Patients as needed
  • Monitor E-bridge for non-payment or under payment and work with EPS for reprocessing
  • Consult patients when requested for expected OOP expenses
  • Coordinate with our Optical Team on what needs to be collected when checking out a comprehensive exam

Education Level:

Some Post Secondary education preferred, Applied in Science, Associates Degree.

Description:

The billing assistant or billing clerk gathers, calculates and documents numerical data for invoicing purposes by compiling, computing, recording the billing, accounting, statistical, and other numerical data. This position will prepare or assist with the preparation of invoices for services rendered or for delivery of the shipment of goods to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Optometry terminology.
  • Understand and comply with policies and procedures associated with an Optometry practice.
  • Understand and comply with HIPPA.
  • Understand and comply with the HITECH Act of 2009.

Essential Functions:

  • Understanding and use written information that may be presented in a variety of formats, such as text, tables, lists, figures, and diagrams; select reading strategies appropriate to the purpose, such as skimming for highlights, reading for detail, reading for meaning, and critical analysis.
  • Express ideas and information in written form clearly, succinctly, accurately, and in an organized manner; use English language conventions of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence and paragraph structure; and tall written communication to the intended purpose and audience.

Duties:

Records & Finance

  • Encode and cancel checks, using banking machines.
  • Take orders for imprinted checks.
  • Compare previously prepared bank statements with canceled checks and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Verify signatures and required information on checks.
  • Post stop-payment notices to prevent payment of protested checks.
  • Maintain files of canceled checks and customers' signatures.
  • Match statements with batches of canceled checks by account numbers.
  • Weigh envelopes containing statements to determine correct postage and affix postage, using stamps or metering equipment.
  • Load machines with statements, canceled checks, or envelopes to prepare statements for distribution to customers or stuff envelopes by hand.
  • Retrieve checks returned to customers in error, adjusting customer accounts and answering inquiries about errors as necessary.
  • Provide office support in financial duties associated with billing for patients
  • Process Medicare/Medicaid claims including verification; electronic input and transmittal; and, ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Process paperwork for third-party billing
  • Perform accounts receivable collections

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
