Emergency Shelter

Position Title: Residential Specialist/Coordinator – Part Time- (All shifts)

Position Summary: Binkley House is seeking part-time shelter staff that are mature, responsible, and able to guide youth that are in crisis positively and appropriately. Various responsibilities may include but are not limited to supervising, monitoring, and guiding both personnel and the behaviors of shelter residents, de-escalating problem situations, modeling positive youth/staff interactions, assisting residents with educational assignments and daily living skills. Such skills could include cleaning, cooking, transportation, conducting security and bed checks and emergency drills. Staff will also attend required monthly meetings as well as annual trainings.

Youth Services Bureau is a 24 hour facility. This position may be assigned some overnight shifts, you must be awake during those working hours. Preferred availability incudes, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age. Minimum of high school diploma or GED. Prior experience with at-risk youth strongly preferred.

Salary: $18.00-20.00/hour

Monroe County and Circuit Court offices are open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except holidays.
