Position Type: Sub-pool (PRN)

Job Summary
This position works under the direction of the Director of Nursing. Provides direct patient care designed to meet bio psychosocial needs utilizing the nursing process. Supervises patients while functioning as a positive role model. Functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Works under the medical supervision of the Chief Medical Officer. This is a safety sensitive position.
An individual must perform each essential duty (outlined in the performance evaluation) satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed.
Education and/or Experience
Must be a qualified health or mental health professional as defined by state standards. Past experience in mental health and utilization of community resources is preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have the following current credentials:
Registered Nurse licensed by the state of Arkansas
Language Skills
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must have the ability to read and write reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Able to make accurate calculations/conversions of medications.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Demands
Team members are required to sit, stand, talk, hear, walk and reach with hands and arms. Must also be able to contain and restrain patients. Must maintain a current tuberculosis skin test.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.

Founded in 1966, Youth Home, Inc., located in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a private non-profit mental health provider.
