Summary
Social Workers are responsible for providing approving potential foster and foster to adopt families to provide a loving and stable home for children ages 0-21 who are entering or already placed in the foster care system. Additionally, YFC social workers provide support and services to ensure stability of client placement in foster homes, monitor foster homes for compliance with Title 22 regulations, screen and evaluate intake admissions to appropriately match children in emergency placements and traditional/ISFC or foster to adopt placements, and act as community, family, and court liaison. This position will focus on the approval of foster families and the case management of children placed in those homes. This position assists in development of needs and services plans, development of discharge plans on clients, and all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
  • A Master’s degree in social work or related field required and experience working with at risk children and families.
  • Knowledge of child welfare system, group processes and the ability to apply, knowledge of 24-hour crisis intervention, and understanding of interpersonal relationships.
  • A California driver license and a clean driving record is required for this position.
  • Must have knowledge of Facsimile, IBM Compatible computer hardware, Microsoft computer software, and the ability to type 40 wpm and use a copier.
The estimated base pay for the Social Worker $22.50 to $26.00, additional individual compensation may be available. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefit program is available for qualifying position.
