JOB TITLE: VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT REPORTS TO: CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER CATEGORY: EXEMPT
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The VP of Development plays a pivotal role in the company’s growth and expansion strategy. This position will oversee assigned regions and lead a team of Directors of Development. The VP of Development is responsible for analyzing the market potential and profitability and to develop strategies to achieve the greatest market share for the company in the market. This position is responsible for spearheading the establishment of new physician offices while optimizing staff ratios for patient care. This position is also responsible for implementing strategies through market research, product development, advertising, and sales promotion programs. The VP of Development is to grow the company’s services and be a positive reflection of the organization while being heavily involved in the community.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Ensure that the department’s external and internal activities are consistent with the Company’s vision and mission.
Must be available during normal work hours (unless previously approved by direct supervisor). Additional hours may be required to complete normal business functions and/or projects.
Utilize the company’s software systems and update information as required.
Participate in coaching calls.
Perform other duties as requested or required, in the sole discretion of the Company.
MARKET SHARE GROWTH
Develop and implement strategies to enhance market share within assigned regions, ensuring the company’s competitive positioning.
Evaluate outcomes of all marketing strategies and external and internal events, making necessary modifications to programs/activities to ensure attainment of objectives.
Focus on market segments and target markets.
Identify marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
Development and implementation of a strong strategic marketing strategy to increase utilization of our provider services and overall regional growth.
Monitor the growth of the region(s).
STRENGTHENING RELATIONSHIPS
Continuously nurture and expand existing relationships with healthcare partners, including primary care and specialty physician groups, hospitals, home health agencies, other ACOs, rehab centers, and skilled nursing facilities.
Directs, participate in, and evaluate referral development/community education activities and their effectiveness in meeting identified outreach goals.
Provide community education.
Participation and marketing in public relations and community activities that promote the organization and its role as an effective member of the company and healthcare delivery system as well as customer service promotion.

REFERRAL PROCESS MANAGEMENT
Collaborate closely with regional administrators to ensure the effective processing of referrals, optimizing patient care.
Monitor patient retention and mitigate network leakage.
Provide specific direction, referral development training and needed resources to assist employees in carrying out assignments.
EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT
Assess staffing needs based on company ratios, manage job postings, conduct interviews, and oversee the hiring process to maintain a qualified workforce.
Interview, hire, orient, train, and oversee employees supervised.
OFFICE EXPANSION
Strategically plan and execute the establishment of new offices (clinics) across states, including advertising strategies to ensure a patient influx and provision of necessary resources.
SUPERVISION
Provide leadership and guidance to Directors of Development in smaller regions, ensuring they maintain and develop relationships with referral sources while contributing to regional growth.
Complete Ride-A-Longs and Coaching regularly with employees.
Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top-quality individuals.
Ensure designated employees are being held accountable and meeting their goals.
Promote effective two-way communication between employees supervised, administration and team members within the region.
Effectively supervise assigned employees and lead the team in the identification of market opportunities and development of strategically focused plans that will result in measurable growth outcomes.
Meet with employees in a regional meeting to collaborate ideas as determined by Leadership.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift, reach, bend, push, pull, use repetitive hand motions, walk and carry simultaneously.
Must be able to withstand reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching; walking and standing for periods of time; lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, while an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor's Degree in marketing or healthcare promotions is preferred.
Must have previous experience in healthcare marketing or management.
Ability to read and communicate effectively.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
Ability to manage and demonstrate effective leadership skills.
Should demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills under all conditions and circumstances.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Team player with ability to manage multiple responsibilities and demonstrate sound judgment.
Must be able to work flexible hours and travel between offices, facilities, etc. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order.
