The job of Reading Specialist was established for the purpose/s of improving students’ success in reading by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; developing lesson plans; modeling the necessary skills to perform assignments; providing a safe and positive learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Qualifications:
Pennsylvania teaching and reading specialist certification is required.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Strong GPA in major area; evidence of rigorous college program.
Related teaching experience required; reading specialist experience is preferred.
Outstanding personal/interpersonal communication skills; openness towards parent conferences.
Experience with technology in facilitating instruction.
Excellent organizational and neatness skills; ability to keep concise records.
Sensitivity to the developmental stages and well-being of children.
Willingness to be flexible in terms of teaching assignment within the school setting.

Pay: $42,995.70 - $55,926.26 per year
