JOB LOCATION: YMCA-University Hills
HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: Varies, Days, Evenings and Weekends
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: The individual will be responsible for providing a safe, clean, attractive and fun aquatic facility for people of all abilities. Maintain safety in pool at all times while teaching high quality swimming lessons, ensuring that students have the best possible opportunity to acquire the skills for their particular level.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Instructor Aquatics, working as part of the Aquatics team, will deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The individual will be responsible for providing an safe swim instruction for participants. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Always maintain pool safety during swimming lessons; deliver lessons that provide students the best opportunity to acquire skills for their level
Educate participants on pool rules and enforce rules as required
Remain current on all CPR, First Aid and other safety certification training
Report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor immediately using proper forms
Be visible to members at all times-work towards branch membership retention goals
Keep daily attendance records and complete level skill sheets
Be in the water 50-100% of class time
Communicate with all participants/parents if class is being cancelled and/or rescheduled
Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans

Swim Lesson Certification
Listen First within 6 months of hire or an action plan in place
