Seeking teachers for our before and after School Age Child Development Program at the Hayshire Elementary School. Hours available are 6:15am-9am and/or 3:15pm-6pm.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Provides direction for the children in the classroom, and implements program curriculum. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Implements curriculum within the established guidelines and is prepared in advance of each lesson/activity. 2. Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families. 3. Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards. 4. Actively guides children in appropriate play and routines. 5. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child to provide feedback and create purposeful activities to meet the needs of the individual and group. 6. Provides positive descriptive feedback to redirect challenging behaviors. 7. Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains volunteers and connects them to the YMCA. 8. Maintains program site and equipment. 9. Ensures a safe, healthy environment and is knowledgeable on eenacting safety/emergency procedures. Practices infection control procedures and proper handwashing. 10. Maintains required program records. 11. Maintains required training to comply with licensing and YMCA policies.
12. Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staffmeetings, and staff trainings13. feedback for program improvement, concerns, etc. 14. Reports suspected abuse per YMCA policy. 15. Performs other duties as assigned.
