Greater Puyallup is seeking and praying for our next Area Director as we embark on an exciting journey to continue the rich legacy of Young Life in a flourishing region ripe for God's harvest! Spanning three vibrant cities - Puyallup, Fife, and Edgewood - our area has passionately served kids for over half a century. With nine middle schools and five high schools, Greater Puyallup boasts a dynamic landscape for ministry, currently offering four active clubs with one in development.

Supported by two outstanding staff members - a dedicated YoungLives Director and an experienced part-time Area Administrator - along with a committed cadre of volunteer leaders and an energetic committee, including specialized sub-committees like RCE and Banquet, we eagerly anticipate partnering with the individual chosen by the Lord to lead as our next Area Director. Collaboration and community are at the heart of all we do; we love to do life and ministry as a team!

We seek a visionary, discerning, pastoral, and collaborative leader of leaders, driven by a deep passion for reaching the “next kid” and seeing kids and adults grow in their love for Jesus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to cultivate both people and ministry, coupled with a spirit of humility and openness to growth. Fearlessness, fruitfulness, and steadfast faithfulness are the values that guide us and will guide our next Area Director.

Responsibilities:

• Primary focus is the spiritual and emotional health of self and those this position leads.
• Lead area vision and strategy for contact work, club, campaigners, and camp.
• Participate in dynamic direct ministry with students alongside volunteer leaders
• Gradually hire, develop, and empower a staff team for leadership in the area.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteer leaders alongside staff and team leaders
• Partner with the committee chairs in leading and developing the area committee and sub-committees
• Lead the strategic planning and financial development of the area alongside the committee.
• Develop, care for, and communicate with financial supporters for the area alongside RCE team.
• Build connections with the local church and business leaders.
• Participate in staff training, regional, divisional, and national initiatives, and summer camp assignments.
• Raise personal financial support.

Qualifications:

• A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Proven spiritual leadership, vision casting, and team building.
• Gifted in working with adolescents and adults.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a willingness to be trained and led.
• Ability to lead through cultural intelligence frameworks with high emotional intelligence, both externally and internally.
• Professional, responsible, and strong follow through.
• Able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Successful fundraising experience.
• Young Life leadership experience required.
• College degree preferred but not required.
