For more than a decade, Young Chefs Academy's mission has been to teach the joy and value of cooking to kids and teens across the globe. YCA of San Antonio is currently seeking energetic, fun members to join our team! We are filling part-time Lead and Assistant Teacher positions for summer camps as well as year-round classes. If you have a passion for teaching children and know your way around the kitchen...this could be the position for you. We offer competitive pay, flexible hours and a fun environment where we teach the joy and value of cooking to young chefs from preschool to high school.

Part-time positions are based on weekly schedule of events, usually in afternoons through early evening and some mornings as well as full days on Saturday. A culinary degree is NOT required but knowing your way around the kitchen and experience working with children is a plus.

Teachers are responsible for leading cooking classes, birthday parties and special events for children ages 4 and up. All classes follow a preset curriculum. Teachers are responsible for delivering the materials in creative and exciting ways while maintaining control of the kitchen classroom.

The successful candidate:

• Has experience with children, especially in a classroom or teaching environment
• Has good working knowledge of the kitchen
• Is fun, enthusiastic, creative and organized
• Is at least 21 years of age
• Is available for some evenings and Saturdays (all classes are completed by 8pm)
• Wants a flexible schedule

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
