R&D Test Kitchen Associate **R&D Test Kitchen Associate**

**597 Monterey Pass Rd Monterey Park, CA 91754**

**Position Objective:** This position provides support to the R&D department creating sample /prototype bars and other food products so that innovative brands can bring their ideas to market fast. All products must meet YouBars food safety standards. This position reports to the R&D Kitchen Lead.

**Duties and Responsibilities Include**:

* Prepare and set up the recipes to be completed each day

* Read and gather ingredients to measure, weigh and mix accurately in order

* Create efficiency runs to verify production ability in the main kitchen. If problematic, review/reformulate with the Development Team

* Set up and cleaning of work area properly for every individual recipe so ingredients/orders do not cross contaminate

* Verify consistency in recipe results: texture, color, taste, smell

* Responsible for final packaging/labeling with correct nutrition facts on all bar productions from test kitchen

* Follow all Company GMP protocols and safety procedures

* Read to confirm H2O activity

* Responsible for washing all equipment used in test kitchen

* Communicate and follow YouBars food safety commitment

* Other tasks as assigned by Manager

**Skills:**

* Excellent verbal and written communication

* Understand the science of mixing ingredients in relation to taste, texture, & efficiency tests

* Understand bar ingredient nutritionals

* Able to follow written recipe ingredient orders

* Measure, weigh, mix ingredients accurately. Calculate waste

* Active listening/active learning

* Work in a team environment

* Work with accuracy in a fast -paced environment

* Good organizational skills

**Job Qualifications**:

* Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED

* Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of related experience

**Other:**

* Standing up to 90% of the time

* Lift/Pull containers of ingredients off shelves

* Lifting containers 4 lbs. to 35 lbs. frequently; on occasion up to 50 lbs.

* Push/Pull forming tools to press/mold product

* Able to operate mixers

* Exposure to the following food allergens: tree nuts, peanuts, eggs, soy, milk, fish and shellfish. Employment is conditional to being able to work with them without incident
