Job Description

The Nurturing Place, York Street Project’s Child Development Center, is looking for teachers passionate about working with young children to join our team. The Nurturing Place provides warm, caring environments where children learn and grow. We are a 4-Star rated Center by GrowNJ Kids.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and maintain the welfare, health, and safety of all children enrolled in the center.
• Maintain high standards of professional ethics with regard to children, parents, staff, and volunteers
• Following ALL policies and procedures that govern the organization. (The Nurturing Place, The York Street Project, NJ Department of Education, Office of Licensing, and NJ Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers)

An ideal candidate for this role should possess:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential preferred
• CPR and First Aid Certified (or willing to attain)
• Cleared Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI) check
• Cleared Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) check
• Able to lift 25 lbs., squat/kneel, sit on the floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety.

Other background demonstrating application of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Experience in education preferred
• Experience with creating curricula preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Enthusiasm for working with children

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
