EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Fire Services Department is excited to hire a full-time, Fire Prevention Technician to join their team! This position is responsible for testing and maintaining fire hydrants, fire equipment, and provide logistics to aid the York County Fire Services Department. Salary is based on qualifications.Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am -5:00 pm; hours may vary based on operational needs to include occasional evenings and weekends. Responds to fire, rescue, and hazardous materials emergencies. Assist in testing the functions of county self-contained breathing apparatus.Completes respiratory fit tests for firefighters in York County.Provides fire prevention methodology to the citizens of York County.Performs air quality checks on the compressors housed by the fire departments in York County.Provides equipment repair to air packs, air compressors, and other specialized equipment utilized by York County Fire Services.Attends seminars, meetings, and in-service training for the different functions related to job responsibilities.Performs weekly checks and annual service to the hazardous materials response truck and its equipment.Performs related work as assigned.:
