Position Summary
DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Counseling Services is a full-time 12-month position and is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the counseling department, the planning and administering of clinical services, and overseeing of TimelyCare services (the current telehealth option for YCP students). The Director serves as an active member of the College and divisional committees and chairs appropriate ad hoc committees.
OUTCOME:
* Assuring effective coordination and delivery of clinical services for students
* Successful implementation of student wellness outreach programs
* Effectively overseeing and managing the college's partnership with TimelyCare (or future alternative)
Essential Functions
Administrative 60%
* Directs the college counseling center in implementing clinical services involving individual/group counseling sessions, crisis appointments, crisis response, student/faculty/staff consultations and outreach programs
* Ensures the office practices and electronic medical records comply with the American Counseling Association Ethical Guidelines, HIPAA and FERPA
* Oversees all aspects of the telehealth contract/services and interfaces with the Health Services Director in regards to telehealth medical components. Serves as the organizer of regular meetings with our telehealth Success Manager and monitors/gatekeeps the utilization of services, particularly psychiatric services
* Conducts and gathers data pertinent to Counseling Services outcomes and utilization; directs planning, evaluation, assessment and marketing of counseling services
* Maintains records pertinent to the responsibilities of the Office of Counseling Services
* Provides clinical supervision of all Counseling Center clinical staff, interns and assistant director
* Supervises and evaluates all office personnel
* Develops and maintains department budget and manages fiscal accounts
Direct Service 40%
* Provides student wellness programs, presentations and trainings as schedule and staffing permit
* Provides critical incident briefings/responses to students when requested (i.e., student death, etc.)
* Provides direct services to include individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and consultation
* Interfaces with academic departments and other College offices as needed regarding student mental health
* Participates in College and division committees to assist with issues related to student mental health and wellbeing
Experience and Education Required
* Master's degree in a clinical field required (traditional graduate degrees only)
* 3-5 years' experience in college counseling; currency with respect to student support and mental health practices on college/university campuses
* Licensed clinician in the state of Pennsylvania, such as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
* Experience with case management and scheduling software (e.g., Titanium) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software preferred.
