The YohnCo Ready-Mix Plant Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining equipment and production at their assigned ready-mix plant. Additionally, Plant Managers follow safety and operational guidelines, check for concrete quality, load concrete according to tickets, and maintain courteous customer relations. The Ready Mix manager works closely with the Dispatch Manager to oversee Ready-Mix drivers and including employee absences, discipline issues, or other concerns. The Ready-Mix manager plays a crucial role in customer service and serves as a dependable resource for field employees.

Primary Duties:

· Batch concrete using manual and computerized systems.

· Trouble shoot problems with wet loads.

· Communicate professionally with customers and attract future business

· Have a basic knowledge of concrete finishing problems and their causes

· Train, motivate, and give direction and discipline to employees under their supervision

· Solve problems as they arise

· Order and coordinate aggregate deliveries, enter aggregate into the dispatch system for inventory control, and track internal inventory of admixtures making sure adequate supplies are on hand for job completion

· Preform various quality control functions i.e. moisture checks, slump tests, air entrainment tests, and temperature tests that are congruent to company and order standards.

· Follow directions from management

· Promote a safe work environment and facilitating assigned site safety talks

· Operates, maintains and accounts for all equipment that is assigned to the plant

· Follow end of day batch plant cleanup and prepare for the next day

· Perform various routine plant maintenance tasks such as greasing, adjustments, cleaning bag houses and venting systems, shoveling and plant system checks.

· Assist in maintenance of computerized batching equipment, material handling and computers.

· Responsible for daily paperwork duties including, but not limited to: timecards, C.O.D.s, invoice approvals, ticketing, and inventory paperwork.

· Mandatory attendance at routine manager meetings

· Complete additional trainings as requested

· Operate tractor trailer, mixer or loader when needed.

Minimum requirements:

· Maintain a valid CDL Class A

· Ability to pass and maintain a DOT Medical Card and pass routine DOT drug testing

· Knowledgeable and ability to operate computerized batching equipment and be MS Windows proficient

· Ability to teach, coach, and work with a team in a constructive manner

· Prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects

· Flexibility and willingness to preform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

· High level of reasoning abilities to met deadlines and prioritize demands

· Ability to serve as a leader to both peers and direct reports

· Able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, drive, ride, twist, push/pull of controls and ride on rough terrain.

· Able to work in inclement weather (wet/dry, extreme heat/cold), lift at least 80 pounds, drive a manual transmission and tow trailers.

Preferred Requirements:

· Knowledge of ready-mix concrete, operations, equipment, and plant

· 2 years Ready-Mix driving experience

· Customer Service Experience

· Management Experience

· Certifications in PCC1 or ACCI

Working Conditions:

· Work environment includes moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and moderate to loud noises.

· Exposure to all types of terrain ranging including uneven, slippery and soft ground.

· Consistent use of appropriate PPE including: respirators, gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, hi-visibility apparel and steel toe boots.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
