Shipping Job Summary

In conjunction with preparing shipping orders and package contents for our loyal customers, you will work with supervisors who are committed to helping you find success. You will gain experience in computing freight costs and documenting inventory to guarantee every package reaches its destination. Job Responsibilities

• Safety and attendance is number one. Good organizational skills and cleanliness to the work area.
• Position will prepare and construct pallets. Must have general carpenter skills.
• Position loads and unloads trucks and containers and prepares heavy items for shipment.
• Must be able to lift 75 lb, use pneumatic nail gun, saw, tape measure, banding tools, and drive a fork lift. Build wood pallets and crates.
• Position investigates and resolves problems arising from purchasing or inventory issues.
• This position pulls items from sales orders and make ready to ship out. Double check items pulled on other orders that co-worker has pulled for shipment to verify accuracy prior to boxing or palletizing.
• Preparing packages for delivery by prepping contents, running the packages through the FedEx or UPS System, attaching shipping labels and confirming that all sales orders reflect the correct information to the packaged items.
• Collaborate with colleagues to find solutions to issues that may arise with delays, damaged product or backordered items
• Maintain an inventory of packaging products including labels, boxes, envelopes, Shipping paper, Lumber, wood screws, nails and packing tape, etc.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent degree
• Ability to meet pressing deadlines with attention to detail in a high pressured environment
• Superior organizational and documentation skills
• Prior interaction with FedEx and UPS systems.
• This position is in a fast paced environment and requires familiarity with computers and basic math skills.
• Must have excellent communications skills and be able to interact with customers and management, while performing a variety of tasks which may include, but are not limited to phone, email, fax and face-to-face interaction.
• Ability to understand and adhere to oral and written instructions.
