POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Head Housekeeper and in cooperation with other staff, the Housekeeper is responsible for insuring the cleanliness, neatness and general upkeep of the overall campground and its facilities, staff supervision, risk management, and property management.

They will be responsible for managing those functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the Board of Directors, governing committees, and administrative staff of the YMCA of the Triangle Area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Contribute to the fulfillment of the YMCA mission
• Oversees and maintains the cleanliness, sanitation and orderliness of all campground buildings
• Assists in organizing lost and found items; including cleaning, returning to proper place when able and distributing at the end of the camp season
• Takes the initiative to address cleaning needs outside of routine duties
• Keep campground buildings clean, orderly and sanitized;
• Sanitize cabin bathrooms;
• Assist in taking inventory of all housekeeping, cleaning and toilet paper supplies and make sure that they are ordered on a timely basis;
• Keep track of all linens, towels, pillows and bedspreads;
• Follow regular check lists, completing them and giving them to supervisor for review.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have the ability to perform all functions relating to the cleaning and upkeep of the residence.
• Must have the ability to take initiative in performing job functions and relate well to residents.
• Loyalty, honesty, industriousness and initiative are an integral part of the job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires vision, speech, and hearing to normal range, (with or without accommodations) of sufficient nature for the completion of assigned tasks. Requires the ability to communicate clearly through written and verbal methods; to lift and carry a maximum of 20 pounds; and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, pull and push. Employee must be able to walk a mile unassisted. Employee must have a valid driver’s license and have the ability to drive safely, and the ability to work in an outdoor environment under varied weather conditions.
