POSITION SUMMARY:

Bank of America Student Leaders will gain an understanding of the overall work that is involved in becoming and operating as a nonprofit community service organization.

They will receive a project assignment to focus on throughout their 8 week program and will have an opportunity to showcase their project for colleagues, friends and family members during Week 8.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• High quality professional day-to-day presence interacting with both staff and volunteers.
• Gains a better understanding of what a nonprofit organization is and is comprised of – this encompasses volunteers, board, staff, business functions, etc.
• Attends meetings and/or trainings that provide leadership development opportunities.
• Hands-on strategizing, researching areas of the Y and completing assigned project(s).
• Job shadowing within YMCA departments and branches to gain insight on the day-to-day job responsibilities of Y staff.
• Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Selected from the Bank of America application process.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office.
• Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
• Creative and flexible.
• Interest in nonprofit management and community development.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Multi-lingual desired but not required.
