The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley is expanding the Child-watch program at the Eau Claire South location and is looking to hire for Child-watch Attendants! Afternoon hours are 4pm to 7pm.
Position Summary: The person selected for this position must have a warm, nurturing and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well with children and be willing to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with the Center’s philosophy. Because we work in teams, this person must have a mature attitude that allows them to communicate effectively, problem solve and anticipate the needs of children and fellow co-workers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Help oversee large group of Multi-age children in a cooperative environment
2. Keep children within sight and sound at all times
3. Assist in implementing activities
4. Provide careful, attentive, supervision at all times
5. Assume responsibility for the safety of the children at all times
6. Establish and maintain positive relationships and open communication with other staff, parents, and children
7. Meet the individual needs of all children, including but not limited too:
A. Bathroom assistance
B. Assisting with bottles for infants
C. Playing/ interacting with children
D. Providing specialized assistance as requested by parent/caregiver.
8. Ensure daily cleaning and maintenance of the space
9. Other duties set forth by the Membership Director
Qualifications:
