Position Summary:
Directs the operations of the child care program in assigned location(s). Create a safe, positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes participant safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies, practices and procedures.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintains required child/staff ratio. Provides direct, active supervision to a group of children.
Coordinate with the program director to develop, prepare, and implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the YMCA of Snohomish County and DCYF guidelines. Is responsible for the quality and completion of all program plans, including lesson, behavior and event plans.
Ensure compliance with state and local regulations in addition to YMCA standards and procedures.
Train, evaluate and supervise assigned staff and volunteers, including ensuring required are completed.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships and effective communication with YMCA staff, families, school personnel, community partners and stakeholders.
Provide families appropriate feedback and information as needed for their child to be a successful.
Maintain materials, equipment, and program facility.
If 21 years or older, transport children to/from School-Age program location in YMCA mini-bus, when applicable. Drive safely according to all YMCA policies and procedures and state laws.
Maintain required program records.
Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum age 18, 21 preferred
Two or more years working in licensed School-Age Care program, with children in a developmentally appropriate group setting. Preferred, YMCA experience.
Meet educational and experience qualifications established by DCYF (Dept of Children, Youth and Families
Have a high school diploma or equivalent;
Complete thirty college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent;
OR
Have completed at least twelve college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent AND complete an additional eighteen college credits in any one hundred-level or above coursework or equivalent within five years of employment
Provide document of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, fully vaccinated for MMR/other required vaccinations, and portable background check
Plan, organize, and implement high quality developmentally appropriate programming
Experience working with individuals, families and communities of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Fluency in second language desired
