Under the supervision of the FRC Director, the Family Advocate (FA) is responsible for supporting the ongoing development and implementation of the Strengthening Families Program (SFP) at Cobb Elementary. Additionally, the FA conducts intake, provides appropriate information as part of SFP outreach, and provides referrals to support family needs. The FA serves as a bridge between families and local service providers offering targeted family support programming. The FA assists Cobb Elementary families to access resources through City agencies, local business, cooperative and collaborative Community Based Organizations. The FA will supervise SFP facilitators with a minimum of 12 families per 14-week cycle in Spanish and English 2 times a year. The FA works as a team member with the other FRC staff to ensure a holistic approach to the family needs. Much time and energy are spent in case management approaches. The FA will also be well versed and accountable to Primary Prevention Substance Use Disorder Data Service (PPSDS) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) hours as well as keep track of attendance. The FA is responsible for managing and facilitating the SFP program funded by SF Department of Public Health. They must also follow the curriculum provided, manage incentives, follow up with families and outreach. Also required to participate in FRC core events.
This position is concerned with the delivery of services in the Cobb community. To this end the FA must have the interpersonal skills to interact effectively with families identified. Case Management skills, oral communication skills with families and youth, and the ability to clearly document outcome and data per program protocols are all necessary. The FA adheres to all confidentiality procedures.
$23.00 to $26.00 per hour
