The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Summer Enrichment Teacher for our Power Scholars program to join our team!

As a Summer Enrichment Teacher, you will provide direct support to Summer School teachers. If hired, you will create the best learning environment for scholars, while delivering several different instructional STEM programming and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Teacher in a classroom setting from 8-11:30am during summer school.
• Lead or instruct YMCA STEM programming from 11:30-1pm with provided curriculum.
• Complete program training along with site staff in preparation for program session.
• Enforce all safety policies/procedures.
• Implement the provided Social Emotional Learning (SEL) provided curriculum.
• Assist with ensuring that all equipment and supplies are available and maintained throughout the program.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.

Are you a good fit?

• You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• You are at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge and skills in the area of agreed upon instruction and related equipment set-up, as well as the ability to instruct participants in age-appropriate techniques.
• You are able to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on your first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
• You have reliable transportation and the ability to assist at other childcare sites as needed.
• You want to have fun at work!

Wage: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Part-Time, Seasonal

Location: Lakeview Hope Elementary, Lakewood, WA

Dates of Employment: June 3rd to July 20th, 2024
