Overview

Preschool Senior Program Director

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking someone who is part teacher, part guardian, part administrative phenom and part programmatic innovator. That's a whole lot of parts! But our new Senior Program Director of Early Childhood Learning must be a lot of things to a lot of people. They must be a mentor and educator to the hundreds of children they will oversee, they must be a communicator and trustee for the parents of those children, and they must be a responsible administrator, budgeting ace and management expert for the good of their employees, co-workers and supervisors.

You are hands-on, engaged, young at heart and mature of mind. You are not afraid to get down and dirty in our playground one moment and then get down and dirty in risk management procedurals the next. You are creative and innovative, ready to ensure our programs are ground-breaking, parent-pleasing and mind-blowingly fun for kids. You think at a high level and have high expectations of your staff, fostering an environment of innovation, positivity and teamwork. You are comfortable with nay, you love budgeting, implementing policies, tackling administrative and marketing duties, training and doing work that some may consider dull...but you certainly would not!

You are a youth development expert. You see the possibility of each child, and you work tirelessly to become their champion, mentor and fun-provider. You know that at the end of the day, all kids should have the opportunity to live to their full potential and you can't wait to help them do so.

Salary Range: $52,000-$65,000 Position will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of preschool programming, curriculum and providing leadership for staff, developing program operating procedures and standards while ensuring financial sustainability.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be Director qualified by the State of Colorado Department of Human Services Child Care division.

2. Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or equivalent.

3. Experience managing infant/toddler childcare programs preferred.

4. Minimum 2 years' experience working with Preschool aged/Kindergarten aged children in a supervisory role

5. Minimum age requirements of 21

6. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.

7. Ability to work with a wide range of age groups, demographics and have ability to collaborate well with a number of groups and individuals

8. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

9. Experience in multiple site management, understanding of child development principals and developmentally appropriate practices, understanding of state licensed program, as well as experience with fiscal management and staff development.

10. Ability to meet YMCA driver requirements.

11. Ability and desire to embrace the mission of the YMCA.

12. Experience with Colorado Shines and Creative Curriculum are a plus!

Benefits

All Employees receive a free individual membership and anyone working 10 hours receives a free family membership, 50-100% off our programs and if eligible, we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund.

Full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 3 weeks of paid vacation, 88 hours of paid sick time, and 8 paid holidays per year. Free YMCA programs include: after-school programs, Camp NOCO traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate, and swim lessons. Discounted YMCA programs include: preschool, YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, and specialty summer camps. The Y offers generous medical, dental, and vision benefits. We provide long-term disability and life insurance at no cost to full-time employees.
