The Program Director support the day-to-day operations of Detroit SWIMS and the intent to increase both program quality and the number of children we serve in the tri-county area. The SWIMS Program Director will support the SWIMS Executive Director in developing partnerships with schools, municipalities and other youth serving organizations. Education/Experience/Training/CertificationsAn Associate’s degree or equivalent in Physical Education, Recreation, or related field is required. Bachelors’ Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, or related field is preferred.Aquatics program experience is required.2 years with a Bachelor’s degree.3 years with an Associate’s degree or equivalent.Demonstrated commitment to aquatics.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Prior experience managing and developing aquatic-related programming is required. A minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience including hiring, managing and developing staff is required.
