Summer Camp Director

Position Overview: As a Summer Camp Director, you will:

• Oversee daily operations and management of the summer camp.
• Divide campers into age-appropriate groups and ensure implementation of daily activities.
• Train and supervise part-time Day Camp Group Leaders.
• Manage opening and closing responsibilities, including pick-up and check-out procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily counts of children and manage supply expenses and inventory.
• Ensure safety, supervision, and program implementation for campers, including swim days.
• Foster creativity and intellectual curiosity through planned activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Must qualify for state license (Texas Department of Safety and Health Services or Texas Department of Health and Human Services).
• Minimum age: 21 years; High School Degree/G.E.D. or higher education.
• 1 year of previous childcare experience with a bachelor’s degree OR 2 years of full-time experience in licensed childcare with 70 credit hours of relevant training.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, carry at least 30 pounds, and work outdoors.
• Basic computer skills and excellent communication skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to serve as a role model for youth.
