GENERAL FUNCTION:

Supervises weekend aquatic programs such as parties. Supervises parties to ensure safe swimming conditions in the pool, on deck, and locker rooms. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certifications: CPR, AED, Basic First Aid will train.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must have the ability to make good decisions and exercise mature judgement.
• Initial set up of chairs, tables, and trash cans.
• Greet party at front desk, escort party to their assigned rooms, and take back to pools for party.
• Make sure to sign back of party contract with names, numbers, put on wristbands on for the party.
• Ask if they need help with setup or if they need anything.
• Continue to check on the parties and help were needed, remind of time frame and clean up time.
• Clean up: wipe down tables/ or take down, sweep, collect trash, take down tables and chairs.
• Must have the ability to lead and motivate others, able to communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers.
• Interfaces with members regarding concerns, problems, or any other issues. Provides input and positive feedback while responding to concerns.
• Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Completes related reports as required.
• Maintains effective, positive relationships with members, participants, and staff.
• Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool rules.
• Proactively addresses safety issues or concerns.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Lift or move up to 50 pounds.
