Job Summary: 

Maintain SUD related policy and procedures, budgets and state/county system changes as needed. Supervises SUD staff and oversees the SUD program while maintaining a small caseload. Actively represents in community when needed or requested. This position works occasional evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the program.

This position is at the Social Impact Center Y, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of the Social Impact Center Y is to accelerate young people’s ability to build safe, successful, and happy lives. Every year, we serve 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families across King County with programs that aim to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; ensuring stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center Y’s programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment. Many of the young people we serve have had involvement in the foster care, criminal justice system, and/or homelessness systems.

Hiring Range: $76,960.00 - $81,578.00 

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, hires, trains, coaches and evaluates assigned staff and interns. Organizes the panel hiring interview process when needed, in order to ensure a diverse and skilled staff team. 
  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision of assigned Substance Use Disorder Professionals (SUDP), Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainees (SUDPT) and interns. 
  • Maintains qualifications as SUDP and SUDP approved Clinical Supervisor. 
  • Maintain caseload of 25 clients and/or 50% billable hours.
  • Helps implement the policies and procedures of the agency, including personnel, treatment services, and records. 
  • Prepares written Performance Appraisals annually for supervisees. 
  • Conducts regular staff meetings for all clinical personnel to discuss matters pertaining to treatment issues, policies and procedures, case management, and staff relations. 
  • Assists the Clinical Director in updating the agency clinical manual to meet regulatory requirements. 
  • Assists the Clinical Director in preparation for regulatory audits and COA accreditation process.
  • Coordinates assignments concerning intake assessment, individual counseling, group sessions, and educational programs. 
  • Monitors the clinical staff documentation and individual case records by periodically spot-checking case records from each staff and signs off on all SUDPT documentation. 
  • Advises the management team on specific training needs of clinical staff members and recommends an appropriate course of action.
  • Organizes curriculum program and content and monitors all treatment program sessions provided by the agency.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Substance Use Disorder Professional with two or more years’ experience providing community-based chemical dependency treatment services to youth and families from a broad range of cultures and who have a wide variety of needs and a minimum of one year experience supervising Substance Use Disorder Professionals/Trainees or interns. 
  • Fifteen hours of training in clinical supervision approved by the Department of Health and meets WAC requirements as an approved clinical supervisor. 
  • Understands and adheres to state and federal confidentiality regulations.
  • Knowledgeable about relevant Washington Administrative Codes and RCW’s. 
  • Always conducts self ethically and professionally. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to coordinate and supervise direct service and support personnel to deal effectively with courts, probation department, and other agencies and professionals; and to develop and supervise successful treatment programs for various types of individuals are essential.
  • Managerial and organizational skills are required. 
  • Demonstrates strong decision making and communication skills. 
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge and experience with evidence-based treatment models i.e. Seven Challenges, Harm Reduction and ASAM assessment. 
  • Holds the conviction that substance use disorders are a treatable illness and constitutes a public health problem. 
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers, competent with Microsoft Office software and electronic health records.
  •  Experience tracking and summarizing data into reports in a timely manner.  
  • PREFERRED POSITION ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS

    • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical activity, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
    • Knowledge of King County Behavioral Health and Medicaid Benefits helpful
    • Dually certified mental health and chemical dependency/substance use disorder helpful
