YMCA of Greater Rochester is Hiring a Tennis Instructor Near Rochester, NY

Description

Shifts available: Mon. - Fri. 9:00 am - noon and/or 1:00 pm -4:00 pm

Rate of pay: $16 to $16.50 per hour

Under the supervision of the Director (the “Director”), the Tennis Instructor (the “Instructor”) will ensure a safe and engaging environment for all youth in the tennis instruction program and facilitate tennis programming for participants. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester are conveyed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet each participant and be responsible for following all procedures in relation to the program area.
  • Actively engage and assist members utilizing the program area.
  • Know the emergency procedures, rules and regulations and ensure participants are utilizing program area(s) in a safe manner.
  • Assist in overall cleanliness and appearance of program area(s).
  • Ensure proper care of equipment.
  • Maintain all required records and reports.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain all required certifications.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have appropriate background and training in program area and the ability to teach and motivate participants.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including possible weekend hours as determined by the department supervisor.
  • Must possess or attain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 60 days of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to move quickly to react to safety and security issues.
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and transport equipment from one location to another.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, specifically those subject to extreme heat and humidity.
