YMCA of Greater Houston is Hiring a TPAP Program Engagement and Support Specialist Near Houston, TX

Alief-International Services YMCA is a unique branch of the YMCA of Greater Houston that seeks to meet refugee and immigrant communities’ needs here in Houston. International provides comprehensive programs that focus on building human assets and fostering self-sufficiency. The Program Engagement and Support Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining a core group of TPAP supporters in the community, working closely with the Director of In-Kind Donations and Volunteers to make sure TPAP volunteers are processed, responding to donation requests, coordinating the distribution of donations, and creating periodic client events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expand TPAP’s community resources to better meet the TPAP department’s needs
  • Increase TPAP’s visibility in the community to make sure community members have access to the program
  • Coordinate TPAP activities for clients on a quarterly basis
  • Create volunteer opportunities to assist with TPAP activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams, i.e. Operations, to ensure TPAP department needs are met
  • Solicit donations and coordinate pick-ups whenever possible; ensure proper documentation of donations is done in a timely manner
  • Create blurbs and updates for the center’s social media to inform the public about opportunities to donate and/or volunteer
  • Comply with the agency’s policies and standards
  • Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
  • Follow mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements
  • Meets timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance.
  • Other duties may include food pantry, airport pickup, and on-call responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in social sciences (social work, anthropology, history, psychology, political science, sociology) or other related major
  • One additional year of experience working with trafficking victim-survivors (or lived experience) preferred
  • Able to read and interpret documents. Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Able to speak comfortably and confidently in front of groups of clients, staff members, and partners
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access is required
  • Texas Driver License; clean driving record and applicable auto insurance are required.

Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm, evening and weekend hours will be required
