YMCA of Greater Houston is Hiring a Cheerleading Instructor- Trotter Near Houston, TX

Position Summary:

Promotes a fun and safe environment while teaching the fundamentals for recreational gymnastics and/or cheerleading.

Essential Functions:

  • Promotes and incorporates the YMCA five core values and character development model in to all program activities.
  • Must have a positive attitude and lots of energy with children of all ages. Must practice safety when teaching skills.
  • Provide coaching and leadership to all participants.
  • Establish and implement ongoing communication with families.
  • Administer skills progression testing and monitoring.
  • Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. 
  • Reports all incidents and completes accident reports as necessary.
  • Respond to member questions and concerns and provide feedback about the program as requested.
  • Attends staff meetings and training as required.
  • Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follows mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
  • Meets timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance. Example includes but are not limited to Kronos Workforce Ready for review and approval of time sheets.

Qualifications: 

  1. Minimum age of 18 years.
  2. Previous experience working with children preferred.
  3. Previous experience with diverse populations.
