YMCA of Florida's First Coast is Hiring a Senior Program Director, Immigrant Outreach & Services Near Jacksonville, FL

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Program Director is amission-drivenprofessionalwho providesleadership to the New American Welcome Center. This individual will oversee the overallprogramoperations and will have theresponsibilityofconnectingwithimmigrantcommunities. Buildinguponastrongandsuccessfulfoundation,the Senior ProgramDirectorwillwork withtheVP of YD/Operations,collaboratingorganizations,volunteerleadersandstudents programsindesigninganddeliveringqualityprograms. Fundraising and creating and managing an Advisory Board will be a key responsibility for sustainability of the New American Welcome Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Leads and delivers the New American Welcome Center activities and funding requirements.
  2. Establishes and develops an Advisory Board to ensure sustainability, focused on meeting community service needs by recruiting and recognizing volunteer leadership.
  3. Coordinates the development of the Advisory Board and committees. Directs volunteer activities that meet policy and program needs.
  4. Explores fund development opportunities with the Advisory Board and Association leadership, and create a culture of philanthropy.
  5. Works with all staff to shape and carry out specific outreach programs, recruits and utilizes volunteers, organizes the preparation and use of materials, and evaluation of programs, including primary administrative responsibility for immigrant outreach and services.
  6. OverseesandcoordinatesYMCAsponsoredeventsandcollaborativeevents.
  7. ProvidesstaffconsultationandassistanceforgroupshousedattheYMCA,includingleadershiptraining,buildingstrategicrelationshipswithcommunityorganizations,andorganizingresponsestocommunityissues.
  8. WorkscooperativelywithYouth Development staff,attendweeklystaffmeetings,report annuallyoncurrentstudentsinvolvedinYprograms.
  9. WorkswithMarketing and Communicationstodesignandproduceprogram communicationsandtodevelopsocialmediastrategiesforreachingand engagingvolunteers.
  10. Evaluatesandassessesprogramactivitiesmakingadjustmentsandmodificationsas needed.

  4. Demonstratedsuccessinprogramdevelopment,managingmultipleongoing projects,workingwithvolunteersandprojectmanagement.
  5. Strongcommunicationskills(writtenandverbal)competenciesneeded, includingtheabilitytospeakinpublic,interactwithandmotivatevolunteers, communityleadersandstaff,andwritecontentforprogrammaterials.
  6. Candidatewithfamiliaritywithnewcomerexperiences,ispreferred.
  7. Abilitytoworkcollaborativelyinafast-pacedteamenvironment.
  8. Flexibility, resourcefulness, high energy and ability to adapt to changing needs.
  9. Organization and time management skills necessary to meet deadlines.
  10. Ability to present a positive image to staff, participants, colleagues, supervisors and the community.
