POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the supervision of the Associate Membership Director the Membership Support Associate delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes membership and programs, maintains cleanliness and organization of the membership desk area in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.

• Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; assist all new members with membership application and sign up. Responsible for all program registration through computer software program.

• Build relationships with members; help members connect with one another and the YMCA.

• Resolve membership concerns and inform the supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

• Balance the membership till and maintain records with a high level of acuracy.

• Keep program flyers book current and organized.

• Inventory and order colored copier paper as needed.

• Keep inventory of forms and copy as needed.

• Make supply of guest cards and courtesy cards as needed.

• Fill requests for payment and access history statements.

• Assists Member Services Director.

SECONDARY TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mandatory reporter of suspected abuse and/or neglect of children, elders and individuals with disabilities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.75 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
