The YMCA of Delaware is for Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility throughout the state of Delaware. The YMCA of Delaware meets the needs of all people - all ages, all walks of life, all ability levels - throughout the state as it has for some 120 years. YMCA Healthy Living Prevention Programs Diabetes Prevention Program A program for those who have prediabetes or are at high risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. The Program is a year-long program, developed in conjunction with Indiana University and recognized by CDC, consists of 16-1 hour-sessions, followed by 6-8 monthly ...meetings. The classroom-based program is proven that by eating healthier, increasing physical activity and losing a small amount of weight, a person with pre-diabetes who is overweight can prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes . www.diabetespreventionde.org Healthy Lifestyles Behavior Change Program The program, developed with Stanford University, is a behavior change program where participants focus on one health goal for the duration of the program. In a classroom setting, participants in learning about healthier eating, physical activity and other behavior changes over the course of 22 one-hour sessions.
