The YMCA of Darke County is looking for gymnastics instructors.

Our instructors are responsible for providing class curriculum & instructing gymnastics to children ages 3 & up. Gymnastics instructors serve as the expert during classes and recreational activities and ensure a high-quality sports and recreational experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must demonstrate the ability to teach a safe and effective class

· Must be available to work through the school year

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds

· Prior experience in gymnastics, cheer, or dance preferred; experience instructing intermediate levels

· USAG Safety Certification or YUSA Gymnastics Instruction certification a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Follows the YMCA of the USA teaching guidelines

· Work with children to teach the fundamentals of gymnastics while following all safety procedures and protocols

· Establish clear objectives for all lessons and communicate those objectives to participants

· Monitor participants’ performance to make suggestions for improvement and to ensure knowledge of course standards & objectives

· Set up/tear down equipment
