Summer lifeguard rate starts at $15 / hour (from May 13, 2024 - September 2, 2024). You can work up to 40 hours per week, if interested.

Not certified but interested in becoming a lifeguard? The YMCA will cover the costs associated with your certification. Must be able to complete a pre-requirement swim during interview.

Position requires excellent swimming skills plus a varied aquatic background. Certification or crossover available through the YMCA.

Shifts vary in 4 - 8 hour increments within the open hours. The North Lexington YMCA is open Monday - Thursday 5 : 30am-9pm, Friday 5 : 30am-8pm, Saturday 6am-6pm, and Sunday 10am-6pm Lifeguards provide a sense of control over the entire pool area, including deck areas and locker rooms.

This will increase the safety of the pool for all members and their guest. The lifeguard is the first source of emergency care in the event of an accident.

Time will be spent doing routine maintenance duties as assigned by the management. The YMCA of Central Kentucky is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
