YMCA of Central Kentucky is Hiring a Personal Trainer Near Lexington, KY

Description
Under the direction of the Wellness Director the Personal Trainer will encourage, motivate, and support members in their pursuit of health and well-being. The Personal Trainer provides education of proper health and well-being principles and fitness components that are relevant to an individual's or small group's health and well-being goals. Major responsibilities of this position include: Member Engagement, Personal Training Design, and Management of Personal Training Members and Sessions. This position is instrumental in delivering/implementing personal training services that enhance: membership growth/retention, member engagement, relationship building, and other connection opportunities that encourage members in their pursuit of health and well-being.
May be needed to work at multiple locations within the YMCA of Central Kentucky.
EDUCATION / TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Current CPR, First Aid and AED Certification
  • Current and Approved, Nationally Recognized Personal Trainer Certification
  • Current Knowledge of Strength and Conditioning Training Guidelines

  • Ability to provide support, motivation, and encouragement to all members ensuring a positive and engaging YMCA experience.
  • Must have knowledge of health and well-being principles and practices.
  • Must display an outgoing personality, enabling him/her to relate well to members, participants and guests in a diverse community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver and implement strategies that promote recruitment of new personal training members.
  • Deliver and implement retention plans for existing personal training members.
  • Assist and support branch member engagement plan and deliver/implement member engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure communication with members in regards to branch programs, events, operations, and other member related situations.
  • Maintain proper records and documents related to member's health and well-being goals and personal training session utilization. Be sure to inform the member of the one year expiration.
  • Ensure that all risk management procedures are followed; adhere to risk management policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of innovative member engagement programs.
  • Ensure that the wellness center and personal training areas are: safe, clean, organized, welcoming, inviting and free of clutter. Report any equipment in need of repair.
  • Work within the scope of your work. Do not recommend diets or substances of any kind.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
