POSITION DUTIES
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is seekinga dynamic and visionary leader to fill the role of Senior Executive Director,Office of Communications and Community Engagement. This pivotal position willdrive the development and execution of a comprehensive internal and external communications,marketing, and community engagement strategy to enhance MSDE's public image,foster community connections, and ensure effective communication across variousplatforms.Responsibilities Include:
Provide strategic leadership in developing and executing
comprehensive internal and external communications, marketing, and community
engagement strategies.
Establish and evaluate communication, community engagement,
marketing, and strategy objectives aligned with MSDE's priorities and goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets,
ensuring accurate representation of MSDE's priorities, goals, and values.
Develop and implement strategies for crisis communications
response to foster trust and credibility among media partners and the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelorsdegree from an accredited college or university.Experience: Sevenyears of experience in leadership with expertise in the areas of developing andimplementing comprehensive communications strategies.Notes: Candidates may substitute the possession of aMasters degree from an accredited college or university in a field related tothe position for two years of the required experience.

Preference will be given to applicantswho possess thefollowing preferred qualification(s).Include clear and specificinformation on your application regardingyour qualifications.
Internal and external communications,
marketing, and/or community engagement experience in education or state
government.
