Pay Range: $56,000-58,000
Reports To: Executive Director
Work Schedule: Full Time Hours *Schedule varies
Supervise: Youth Development Assoc. 1 & 2 Staff
POSITION SUMMARY
The Leader, Youth Development will oversee all Education & Enrichment & Camps programming within the West Region (Beaverton, Hillsboro, Forest Grove). Camps and Education & Enrichment programs include but, are not limited to, Childcare Summer Day Camps (Enrichment), School Break Day Camps (Enrichment), After School Enrichment Programs, etc.
Oversight of these program areas is comprised of;
-Recruiting, training and leading staff team to provide high quality youth programming.
-Recruiting, training and leading supervisory staff to oversee high quality Childcare programs.
-Innovating and implementing new programs that serve youth in the community.
-Development, implementation and management of successful annual financial plans.
-Engaging community stakeholders to identify prospective investors who have the capacity to contribute significant gifts to advance the Y’s strategic plan.

Essential Functions
· Innovate, launch and maintain a variety of new programs. At least 4 programs in 12 mo.
· Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Assoc.1 and Assoc. 2 Level Staff (Youth Development Coordinator(s)).
· Identify prospective communities for YMCA Youth Development Programs.
· Engage with potential community partners to achieve West Region annual goals.
· Foster relationships to expand YMCA of Columbia-Willamette West Region’s Geographic Footprint.
· Manage a Chairman’s Round Table portfolio of 1-5 prospective donors.
· Frequent program observations, ensuring high quality program using YMCA best practices.
· Ensure success of annual fiscal plans for West Region Youth Development Programs.
· Serve on/lead Association committees, cabinets, and task forces.
· Ability to work harmoniously with West Region Leadership Staff.
· Clear and prompt communication with supervisor, staff, and participants.
Additional Functions:
· Understand the mission and play a vital role in the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette’s Strategic Plan.
· Participate in all Regional Staff Meetings and functions.
· Serve as Manager on Duty at West Region Branches as necessary.
· Ability to work well in high stress situations, responding properly to critical incidents, and act swiftly in emergency situations.
· Must be able to delegate appropriately, establish productive relations with staff team, volunteers, donors, school districts, new communities, etc.
· Ability to conduct and manage large programs within the West Region’s budget and goals.
· Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
REQUIREMENTS
· Must pass YMCA background check.
· CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to acquire certifications within 30 days of employment.
· College Degree in related field (Recreation Management, Business, etc.) preferred.
· Must have reliable transportation across West Region (Beaverton, Hillsboro, Forest Grove, etc.).
· 2 years of working with youth in varying capacities.
· 2 years of supervisory experience in varying capacities.
· Complete YMCA Learning and Leadership Training pathway in timely manner (upon hire).
· Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in person. There may be times or tasks that virtual work is acceptable. There will be times on site work is required. There will be times when work is performed outside of “normal work hours” dependent on current programs being offered.
