Under the general supervision of the Coordinator/Director, in cooperation with other YMCA staff, and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Sports Official - Youth is responsible for enforcement of official league rules during all scheduled game.

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES:

• Maintain atmosphere consistent with the YMCA Christian Mission during games.
• Diffuse conflict situations involving parents, coaches and players.
• Communicate any inappropriate behavior to Sports Specialist and/or Program Director.
• Enforce rules for particular sport.

REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent must be in support of the YMCA’s Christian mission and Youth Sports philosophy, and have sufficient knowledge of rules for the specific sport being officiated. He/she must be enthusiastic and be able to develop positive relationships with coaches, children and parents.
