POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director of Membership (or assigned Director) and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting the administration and operations of risk management, safety and parking operations of the Dowd YMCA Branch.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day functions of assigned areas, providing leadership and support to staff & Association Risk Team as needed.
  • Management of established operation guidelines, standards, and tracking systems to ensure success in all program and administrative areas.
  • Support in providing consistent communications, directions and accountability for on-site vendors and/or contract service providers.Know and understand the YMCA and branch policies and procedures or the ability to learn.
  • Manage member complaints and concerns while developing positive member relations through intentional interaction with members.
  • Serve as the primary resource for all incident related issues for members and staff including direct response and incident report tracking. Duties include review of camera footage and ensuring proper protocols are in place for any release of footage.
  • Responsible for assigning, audit and removing building and parking credentials for staff, vendors and key partners using Genetec and TIBA systems.
  • Manage parking process at the Dowd YMCA; duties include but are not limited to scheduling of gates at the parking deck and coordination of parking contractors for special events, etc.
  • Serve as assigned for MOD shifts (Manager on Duty)

EDUCATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 year college degree, or relevant experience
  • Three or more year’s administrative office experience.
  • Ability to resolve conflict in complex situations.
  • Must present a professional, mature image, and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to relate to members, volunteers, and other YMCA staff.
  • Interpersonal and public relations skills with an ability to relate well to diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong decision making skills.
  • Excellent writing skills/ability to independently compose correspondence.
  • Coordination of organizational safety and security measures.
  • Must comply with the Basic Safety Series in accordance with the Quality Standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.
  • Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
  • Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
  • Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
  • Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work irregular work hours, including evenings and weekends on occasion.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal communication.
