YMCA - CHARLOTTE is Hiring an Art Instructor Stage Manager: Morrison YMCA Near Charlotte, NC

Under the direction of the Program Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, the Theatre Stage Manager will be responsible for instructing and implementing the Theatre Art Program for the branch, its members, and the community.

Principle Activities:

·Stage Manage an age appropriate quality production through an educational approach.

·Create an ensemble of young performers challenging and valuing every student.

·Create and communicate rehearsal schedule in collaboration with Director.

·Work collaboratively and creatively with director, design team, and admin staff.

·Maintain organized and detailed prompt book including blocking notes and production cues.

·Maintain and distribute production meeting minutes.

·Maintain professional communication with families.

·Send rehearsal/performance reports by 10:00 am the next day after each rehearsal/performance.

·Run cue to cue, tech week, and show call for all performances.

·Arrange for substitutes to when necessary communicating with administration prior to conflict.

·Insure the health and safety of each participant and maintain a safe and clean program site.

·Be a positive influence and advocate of the arts and the YMCA.

·Accept the goals and objectives of the YMCA and work to achieve them.

·Take part in all training or in-service activities to develop proficiencies required performing job responsibilities.

·Attend meetings, promptly and prepared.

·Maintain positive relationships, open communication with YMCA personnel, participants, administration and volunteers.

·Participate actively in promoting the program increasing public awareness of auditions and performances.

·Assume any other duties as assigned by the YMCA administration.

Qualifications:

·4 year degree preferably in Theatre/Art related field. Masters in Theatre / art related field preferred.

·5 years practicing the specialized theatre / art form and 5 hours annually of continuing education in theatre / art related field.

·2 years minimum experience in teaching theatre / art classes for participant of all ages.

·Experience stage managing with youth casts and ability to present prompt book from previous production.

·Present a professional image to participants and general public.

·Strong decision making skills, versatility, initiative, and human relation skills.

·Enthusiasm and the ability to work well with participants and develop harmonious relationships with staff, and members.

·Strong organizational and communication skills

·Ability to assist in developing and implementing class curriculum in alignment with strategic program goals.

·Safety certifications and all trainings and certifications in accordance with the Quality Standards within required timeframe.
